The Beginning

8 years prior to the Slither Inc. Incident, relations were extremely shaky between Taiyoh (Japan) and it's neighbor country, Chi (China). Chi and it's Parliament was against many of Taiyoh's polices, laws, experiments and such. Dislike led to Fear, Fear led to Hatred, Hatred led to Aggression. Chi, regardless of Legion's objections, proceeded to attack Taiyoh's smaller cities and towns on the outside of the country. Taiyoh retaliated, but...

The Problem

Chi was relentless and powerful. They overpowered Taiyoh's outer secondary defense, and after this, they proceeded to attack it's major cities. The only cities able to fend off a full invasion were the capital, and the Military, Legion controlled Elysium city. The capital had it's advantage in numbers and tech, while Elysium city had it's advantage in defense. Chi wasn't giving up. They pressed on, using more than just military power. They hacked into their systems, shutting defenses down, and Taiyoh's extermination was almost guaranteed, regardless of Legion's reinforcements. Chi still had a larger number of soldiers. Legion's reinforcements only slowed down Chi's advancements.

The Solution

Taiyoh was getting desperate at this point. Citizens were forced into Bunkers, and Taiyoh's Government greenlighted ANYthing Scientists thought would save Taiyoh regardless of the dangers to the tests done. If a Death occurred, they overlooked it. They had two answers that could possibly save Taiyoh from Chi's relentless assault. One was made public, which was the original Project: SAI. This one did not utilize humans. They used Reploids, and the AI's were that two AI's were in the body. One AI was the Reploid's mind, the controller. After, this proved effective, and the other Project they had been working on was put on the shelf so they can focus on their current problem. SAI not only proved effective, but did more. It repelled Chi's forces, and Taiyoh, after getting approval from a high-ranking member in Legion, began an extermination campaign of Chi. Over the course of six days, Taiyoh repelled Chi's forces, exterminated them...

The Extreme Finale

Genocide. That was greenlighted by Legion and Taiyoh's higher ups. They began eliminating Chi's forces. Chi's original reason for war is now legitimate. In the short six day span, Chi completely fell, and instead of leaving as a wasted battleground, Legion and Taiyoh collaborated to integrate that into Taiyoh's country. Chi disappeared, and New Taiyoh was was made. New Taiyoh was the on-land Taiyoh in which mining, farming and such occurred. Small colonies were made, and eventually, cities.

Reflection

Project: SAI eventually evolved and anybody affiliated had no pride or honor as the citizens eventually looked down upon the actions done by the Government. Constant riots and protests began to occur, and have been going on since the war. People lost faith in their Government, and slowly, Taiyoh began to fall... Legion itself began to regret it's decision as unlike them, Taiyoh seemed to rather enjoy the Chi extermination, and had no qualms about assimilating Chi into Taiyoh. This caused Taiyoh to begin to fail as a country, and for Taiyoh-Legion relations to be EXTREMELY shaky.
