Arby and I discussed some alterations to the concept and we came to an agreement. Read below for the actual state of Giga City in the RP.
Background: Over a century after the wars, a project was created to explore the sunken remains of Giga City. The starting point was the Central Tower, which was drained before an underground tunnel was made to connect the tower to Tianna Camp. After restoring functionality to Tianna Camp, the project moved on to other areas, with new tunnels being excavated to connect Tianna Camp and Ulfat Factory.
However, something happened. The operations suddenly ceased and contact was lost. Teams were sent to investigate the premises. Those also disappeared. Ambitious Hunters and Raiders dared to intrude the island, but those never returned either. Mechaniloids were deployed to explore the area, but the patrolling units turned into Mavericks, further increasing the danger. The area was since deemed a forbidden zone by Legion. The tower where everything started has become feared as the Cursed Tower, until an ancient Reploid made it his home...
Available areas (as of Assault on the Guardians):- Central Tower: This tower serves as the entry point to Giga City. It was originally the administrative point of Giga City before the island was swallowed by the sea. A massive and lengthy draining process made the tower habitable once again, although some very archaic technology still remains. There are rumors that some areas were not completely drained...
- Tianna Camp: The massive drill that once excavated the bottom of the ocean for Force Metal now lays half buried in the bottom of the sea since the events of the war. After its steel walls were finally punctured by the excavators, it became a hub to the underground tunnels linking to the other facilities.
- Gimialla Mine: In 22XX, the facility originally set up to mine Energen ore was converted into a Force Metal laboratory. However, as Force Metal reserves dwindled over the years, the facility was remodeled a second time to carry out research on Cyber-elves. Research on the effects of Force Metal on Cyber-elves was carried out, and it is said that many of them are stored here to this day.
- Ulfat Factory: This Reploid/Mechaniloid factory used to draw magma to power the facility. The drill used to extract the magma was damaged beyond repair during the wars, rendering the factory completely inert. However, the machines have mysteriously shown recent signs of activity...
The following areas were never reached by the excavation project:
- Lagrano Ruins
- Gaudille's Laboratory
- Vanallia Desert
- Melda Ore Plant
- Grave Ruins Base
They are believed to be still lost in the bottom of the ocean.
