I'll admit that sometimes, using just our main characters isn't enough to truly breathe life to the setting. However, creating a profile for every single person that might appear in, for example, a city, would only clutter the Roster with characters who wouldn't be frequently seen in the RP.
"NPC" stands for "Non Player Character", which refers to characters not controlled by the players. However, for the purposes of the RP, the term may also refer to minor characters, those who only make quick appearances and are not used regularly in the RP. This thread will list such characters.
However, I won't allow this topic to be used as a loophole for Character Registration. Therefore, the creation of NPCs will be much more restricted than regular player characters; in order to create an NPC, he/she/it
must follow the regulations below.
These rules may be changed/updated as needed.
General Rules for NPCs:NPCs must be limited to minor roles. They must not be Chosen Ones, they must not be related to official characters, they must not accomplish "epic" feats, and they must not stand high in any hierarchy. Personality and physical description are fair game, as long as there is no conflict with the templates below.
Unless stated otherwise, control of these NPCs will be limited to the person who has created them. You can play with your NPCs right away, without moderator approval like in Character Registration. You can also create as many NPCs as you want. However, you must follow these rules to the letter. If your character has any (and I mean any) characteristic that does not fit within these restrictions, you'll need to submit a profile through Character Registration.
NPC Templates:- Civilian: A civilian is the average Joe, a person who lacks extraordinary and/or superhuman skills. They can fill various roles in society, but are generally helpless in the major struggles of the world. A civilian does not carry weapons.
- Guardian: A Guardian NPC will be automatically assigned to infantry. The character will wear the regular uniform and be limited to standard Guardian weaponry (handheld buster gun). The character is also bound to the authority of Commander Prairie (or vice-commander Fleuve if she is unavailable).
- Hunter: An armed Hunter NPC will be limited to standard weaponry (handheld Buster). They never work alone, relying on teamwork to do their job. They do not need to wear the Hunter uniform.
- Raider: Raider NPCs will be limited to standard weaponry (handheld Buster). They are always part of a group, but an NPC can never be a leader (if you want to create a Raider for that purpose, post in Character Registration). They do not need to wear a uniform.
- Maverick: Maverick NPCs will be limited to Mechaniloids gone haywire. In this case, they would be a species of Mechaniloid relatively easy to defeat. You can introduce new Mechaniloid species, as long as you include a detailed description of what they look like and how they operate. In the ZX series, Mechaniloids in the Outlands behave much like animals in the wild (check the Mechaniloid Database for reference).
