Name: Hajime

Species: Cyborg

Affiliation or Occupation: Headmaster of Vermillion Monastery; energy researcher; mechanic
Physical Description

Equipment: A dome-shaped arsenal pack containing eight wires and a variety of tools and weapons they control. His elbows contain a sphere-like device called a Plasma Generator that heals any machine he hovers his hands over, and an old Force Metal Generator that allows him to heal from as far as 10yrds.

Skills or Techniques: He has a natural ability to sense the difference between reploids (With the use of his glasses) and humans, as well as their emotions, by reading the flow of their spirit, characterized by him as a non-existent entity of four different colors, and their combinations; flames for human spirit, and particles of glowing pixels for reploids. He is also an expert healer, being able to mend and recharge both human and reploid injuries by messaging his tranquil spirit into the wound; or using his two generators when necessary.

Background: Hajime is a member of Vermillion Village, once a humble monastery that has since grown into a civilization of its own. Rumors claim he is the oldest member thanks to the enhancing capabilities of its brother monastery, Byakko, but Hajime tries not to admit it, worried he'd be overwhelmed with questions he didn't want to answer. He spends the majority of his days wandering Innerpeace and other civilized areas for volunteer work while secretly aiding some old friends in keeping dangerous trinkets from falling into the wrong hands.

Dreams: To continue to help maintain peace however he can

Reasons for Dreams: An everlasting wish of all who join Vermillion

Miscellaneous Information: Despite being older than he appears, Hajime still enjoys swimming as form of relaxation to help him think more clearly, while at the same time give him something to do when he's too bored to leave the Monastery and explore Innerpeace.

He is often times mistaken for a Pseudoroid due to the Organic Rejuvenation mechanics that mend nearly every wound he's suffered, which is heavily and purposely flawed to ensure proper, uncomplicated recovery from even the most fatal of wounds. During such procedures, he is eased into a death-like state with life support keeping him alive until the problem can be fixed; without outside intervention it would take close to months, sometimes years, to fully mend a fatal wound and help him recover from the ordeal, leaving him completely vulnerable to having his mechanics removed, if not further beaten into prolonging the recovery process.

Thanks to some improvements by Byakko, who was also responsible for the Organic Rejuvenation implants, Hajime can withstand temperatures as hot as natural lava, and cold as cryogen, though he doesn't possess the cybernetic to withstand the near deathly temperatures, oftentimes leaving blinded in pain as he swims about, trying to find solid ground.

Frankly, I don't like this concept of immortality at all. A character that can be played without any true sense of danger is within the realm of godmoding, and I've already gone through considerable lengths to reject at least one profile of a character who survived the Maverick Wars, the Elf Wars, the Neo Arcadian regime and Ragnarok. The fact that X, Zero and a majority of the official cast are among the casualties means there should be a very good explanation to justify the presence of an old character in the world of ZX.

I guess I didn't explain the Hajime's "immortality" clear enough and I apologize for that.

The mechanics used to keep him alive are heavily flawed, meaning that he can still be alive, but depending on how damaged he is, he could end up in a death-like state that could take months or years to recover from, giving the vague impression that he's dead and giving reason for being mistaken for a Psuedoroid.

Also, being immortal doesn't make them infallible since they can still be killed by decapitation, which isn't even that hard to figure out even if they haven't watched Highlander before, or be damaged to the point of the attacker taking advantage of their current vulnerability to make sure they stay dead, which includes tearing them open and ripping the mechanic out of their cybernetic systems. Knowing this gives Hajime, and anyone else with the resurrection mechanic, just as much caution as any other finite and fallible being.

Immortality seems too far fetched. But an infinitely long life span is more likely, similar to Chiba. His lifespan isn't limited like Reploids in ZX, but to make up for that, restrictions were made. This character has it's restrictions already, but immortality seems more like a villain's goal rather than something a neutral character has already.

I've made some revisions to mechanics behind Hajime's rejuvenation abilities, being sure to negate as much glaring implication to immortality as possible and ensuring the process doesn't immediately spring him back to life at the drop of a hat.

This doesn't completely address my concern. I know this is an X series based character, so I would like to know how he could survive the entirety of the Maverick Wars, the Elf Wars and Ragnarok up to this point (I will always ask this question for any X series character).

I...kinda didn't want to touch those incidence because I figured it would be completely pointless, especially considering the only incident that would have been brought up more often than not is Ragnarok. But if you want a blunt explanation, it's mostly because he has enough sense and caution to retreat back to Vermillion when he's gotten what he needed, and he feels he's helped out enough.

I apologize for the lateness of this reply.

My issue with this is that you're essentially downplaying the setting; the world of ZX is the aftermath of a long lasting war that resulted in unprecedented casualties and a near uninhabitable world. Although most of it is ancient history at this point and the world is largely restored, the scars still exist. Therefore, I take issue with characters from a long past era emerging virtually unscatched from those events, and claiming that "my character was in hiding/in stasis/etc" comes across as a shallow excuse to circumvent this.
