"Hey, what's this thing?" The chubby man suddenly grabbed Model J in a gesture of curiosity. "It looks kind of pretty."

"It's alright. Nothing but my ego is bruised," Sage rasped while holding her arm. "I.. was almost done, too." She then saw the chubby man snatch Model J out of the air, fondling the poor biometal. Gah! Sage, Aile, somebody! Get this oaf to let go! I haven't been handled in nearly two-hundred years! You have to be on my special list to get this close!

"Chêne, you've demonstrated some discipline issues yourself." Fleuve added with a more firm tone. "Your recklessness can't go unchecked, and we'll discuss punishment later."

"I already said that my only intention was to tell the Mega Men to leave! I didn't know what was going to happen!" Chêne justified herself in a more exaspherated tone. The fact that Zexen was listening to this made the situation even more embarrassing for her.

"That's exactly why you must trust your superiors, Chêne!" Fleuve raised his tone as he began to lose his patience again. He stepped past Carrelet and raised his head to eye the girl. "Your orders were to wait for the other Guardians before entering the building! You can't run off by yourself without considering the dangers ahead! You're lucky that you made it out of there alive!"

"I don't think any punishment is necessary, Mr. Fleuve," Vince remarked. "Perhaps being attacked by a giant spider and almost falling to her death is punishment enough, and hopefully a wake-up call."

"You don't have any right to say anything, you know," Model ó said.

"Granted, I was stupid enough to walk into that trap in the first place," Vince reluctantly added. He paused for a second and turned to Chêne. "You remind me of myself from 20 years ago. Or even 10 years ago. I became unreasonable when my entire town was destroyed by Mavericks. I was skeptical about everything. I didn't trust anyone. I even lost faith in Legion. It was about 10 years ago that my foolhardy and rash actions nearly killed me. I tried to sneak into Cinq Ville's abandoned Amusement Park to look for clues right after the Maverick raid. I believed both it and the one that destroyed my hometown were connected. But I took a dangerous, round-about path there, and the ground collapsed and I fell into an underground river. It took me to a facility which housed a Model W."

He paused again. "I hope you will never have to experience what I have. Do you know how it feels to be almost 'devoured' by one of those abominations? Do you know how terrifying, how lonely, and how physically painful that is? I almost died alone in an abandoned research facility underground, with no hope of rescue. Nobody would have found me. I wouldn't have a grave stone. I wouldn't have a funeral. Nobody would know what happened. I would have just ceased to exist. My actions nearly cost me my life. Try not to make the same mistakes I have... Or may continue to make..." He paused once more.

"But thanks for going in, anyway. It shows you care."

"I have a proposition. One that I believe you'll agree to." The voice responded. "In return for your services, I shall grant you shelter from a world which fears and destroys what they don't understand. Here, you'll be able to take your research to levels which the world has never seen. You'll have the opportunity to use your intellect and your abilities to, quite literally, remake the world which has denied you."

A world that fears and destroys..? Singular was intrigued by the person's intent. "Continue, what services shall you ask of?" He pondred at the possibilities.

Who is this person? Model G asked.

"The first task shall play to your strengths." As the voice finished the sentence, a compartment in the computer near the capsule opened to reveal a cillindrical, translucent container displaying what appeared to be the digitized form of a DNA chain. A holographic screen lit up to display the image of a humanoid figure which Singular probably would not recognize: a long-haired Reploid of average stature whose face was covered by an angular visor. The figure displayed armor eerily similar to that of the person who had just injured the scientist. Next to the image, there was some written data, but one label stood out in a larger font:

"Mega Man Model Z."

Cordell's blue eyes opened widely as he read over the label. An urge to laugh at what he was given came upon him. "Are they related?" He asked out.

Fascinating... Model G was lost in the moment, forgetting his question. He was at a loss of words.

"Correct." The voice responded. "Ressurrecting him will ensure that the Mega Men Model ZX will not stand in the way."

Prometheus widened his eyes briefly as he looked at the screen, and cackled. "I never thought that the Red Mega Man's data would be of any use."
